Billing/Insurance

  • If you have insurance, payment is due at the end of session.

If you do not have insurance coverage, payment is due before your session, unless otherwise agreed upon.

  • Coverage for counselling services varies depending on your individual benefits plan and insurance provider. Below is an overview of common options for accessing counselling coverage in British Columbia. To view our rates, click here.

    Workplace Health Benefits
Many employer-provided extended health plans include partial coverage for counselling services. Coverage limits, eligible providers, and annual maximums differ by plan, so it’s best to confirm details directly with your employer or benefits administrator.

    Private Extended Health Insurance
If you hold extended health benefits through a private insurer, counselling services are often included when provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). Review your policy or contact your insurance provider to clarify eligible services, reimbursement amounts, and provider credential

    Student Health Plans
Post-secondary students may have access to counselling coverage through their institution’s health plan. Student services or campus health offices can provide information about what is covered and how to use these benefits.

    Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP):
If you are a survivor of crime, you may be eligible for counselling funded through CVAP.

  • Clients are responsible for confirming that their benefits provider covers the professional designation of their counsellor.

  • Yes!

Please note that a co-payment may apply, depending on the program funding your counselling services.

A co-payment means you may be responsible for paying a portion of the session fee, while the remaining cost is covered by the funding program.

  • Payments are done online, via credit card or e-transfer.

  • We are committed to community impact and offer flexible engagement models. Please mention your budget during our discovery call so we can discuss a scoped plan that works for your organization.

  • Any outstanding balances need to be paid before you can book another session.

Consulting

  • An audit is a comprehensive review of your clinical protocols, documentation standards, and safety policies. We identify gaps in compliance and provide a prioritized roadmap to help you meet accreditation or funder expectations. Time required to complete the audit depends on the size of the business, and your needs.

  • This varies based on the size of your organization and your needs. We offer everything from one-day staff workshops on Non-Violent Communication (NVC) to multi-month clinical program co-design and implementation support.

  • If you are looking for practical, direct, and culturally aware guidance to stabilize or grow your clinical work, we should talk. The discovery call is a no-pressure way to see if our styles align.

Counselling

  • Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe, supportive relationship. I will share a bit about my background and approach, and we will review confidentiality and its limits.

You will have space to talk about what brings you to counselling at your own pace. I may ask some questions to better understand your experiences and what support may be most helpful. If appropriate, we can begin to identify goals for our work together.

The first session is just the beginning. There is no pressure to share everything right away, and we will continue to explore your concerns over time.

  • For virtual sessions, please ensure you can access both Jane and Zoom in case a backup platform is needed.

You may join your appointment by logging into your Jane account or by clicking the secure link sent to your email before your session.

For step-by-step help, please review this guide:Accessing Your Video Call.

Clients are responsible for managing and troubleshooting any technical issues on their end.

If Jane is unavailable, the session will be held on Zoom. If Zoom is also unavailable, the session will be completed by telephone as a last option.

  • Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists' day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 48 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 48 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a cancellation fee to the card on file. Sessions cannot be booked if there are outstanding charges on the client's account.

    • The right to refuse an assessment.

Supervision

  • My approach is grounded in clinical integrity and cultural safety. I focus on helping therapists develop their unique "niche" while ensuring their practice remains ethically sound. I aim to create a safe environment that is non-judgmental, so that you can navigate mistakes, and learning with pride.
